Milestone Sessions are designed for babies between the newborn stage and their first birthday, usually around 3–11 months old. They’re perfect for capturing all those little changes along the way, from tummy time and first smiles to sitting, crawling, and standing. Many families choose the 6–9 month “sitter stage” because babies are full of personality and can usually sit independently.

Newborn sessions are typically photographed within the first 2 weeks after birth, when babies are still extra sleepy and naturally curl into those sweet newborn poses.
That said, every baby is different. If your little one is a little older, don’t worry. Beautiful newborn photos can still be created beyond that two-week window.

That’s completely okay. I never expect little ones to warm up the second they walk in. We’ll give your child time to get comfortable, play a little, and get used to me and the studio before expecting big smiles. I follow their lead and keep things relaxed, playful, and pressure-free. Some of the sweetest photos happen in those quieter moments too.

I recommend soft, simple outfits that keep the focus on your baby. Neutrals, pastels, tiny florals, knits, rompers, and classic pieces photograph beautifully. Try to avoid large logos, bright neon colors, and busy patterns.
If parents or siblings will be joining in, choose coordinating colors rather than matching outfits. Once your session is booked, I’m happy to help you plan what everyone will wear.

Most milestone sessions take about 30 minutes to an hour. That gives us plenty of time for a few different looks without keeping your baby in front of the camera too long. I always follow your baby’s lead, so we can pause for a quick feeding, cuddle, or break if needed.
